How to make Jekyll blog site on Windows 10

  1. Run ‘Command Prompt’.
    • Enter ‘jekyll -v’ in the command prompt.
      • You can check the installed version of ‘jekyll’.
    • If you cannot see the version of Jekyll, go to the How to install Ruby and Jekyll on Windows 10 and install ‘Ruby’ and ‘Kekyll’ first.
      C:\>jekyll -v
      jekyll 4.0.0    
      C:\>
      
  2. Change to the directory that you want to make Jekyll blog site.
    • You can make direcotory if the directory does not exist.
      C:\>mkdir jekyll_dir
      C:\>cd jekyll_dir
      C:\jekyll_dir>
      
  3. Enter ‘jekyll new my-blog-site’ in the command prompt.
    • ‘my-blog-site’ is the directory that will be created as necessary.
      C:\jekyll_dir>jekyll new my-blog-site

  4. Change directory to created directory and build your site.
    • Enter ‘cd my-blog-site’ in the command prompt.
    • Enter ‘bundle exec jekyll serve’ in the command prompt.
      C:\jekyll_dir>cd my-blog-site
      C:\jekyll_dir\my-blog-site>bundle exec jekyll serve
      Configuration file: C:/jekyll_dir/my-blog-site/_config.yml
             Source: C:/jekyll_dir/my-blog-site
        Destination: C:/jekyll_dir/my-blog-site/_site
       Incremental build: disabled. Enable with --incremental
       Generating...

  5. Browse to http://localhost:4000 in a web browser.
    • You can see the bolg site. Jekyll blog site localhost 4000
